Nevada by La Perla Azzurra

Nevada is the latest article by La Perla Azzurra tannery of Italy. This eye catching leather is vegetable tanned to their usual high quality, something that La Perla Azzurra has been doing since 1967. As with most of their hides, Nevada originates from European countries, particularly France, and is a double shoulder cut.

Nevada is a full-grain hide with a semi aniline finish. On top of this is a shiny fixing that is warm rolled onto the hides, which provides the high gloss, eye-catching finish.

Those familiar with leathers that use shiny grain-side fixings will know that cracking at folds is a common occurrence. Nevada differs in that no matter how you bend and fold, it does not crack, and maintains it's eye-catching appearance.

Crafting

This finish is the primary attraction of Nevada leather, however the full-grain vegetable tan foundation of the leather makes it a fantastic quality that lasts in many applications. Similar to that of Buttero and Pueblo in use, crafters will find Nevada familiar and easy to work with. The flesh side is died through and left without the finish of the grain side, keeping the fibres of the flesh. This makes it easy to cut, skive, and glue.

 Applications

Nevada is a a fantastically striking leather suitable for wallets and clutches. Due to the high gloss nature, it is often preferred in small applications where it won't become over bearing. Being full-grain, it will stretch with use to accommodate a good number of cards in wallets. The bright colours also lend themselves to smaller items such as key fobs or pull tabs for zippers. A large bag can have a pop of colour added with a simple Nevada puller in a blue, red, or green.

We offer Nevada in a range of sizes and colours here. Available in 1.2-1.4mm thickness.
